Our History
HISTORY: The Highland Park Neighborhood Coalition The HPNC) Highland Park Neighborhood Coalition (HPNC) is the oldest of Highland Park’s neighborhood associations. Founded in 2011, HPNC is a merger of four associations that go back to the early ‘70’s.

For the past 11 years, HPNC has met monthly, addressing neighbors’ concerns: community events, crime and safety, and proposed development. The HPNC also spearheaded special campaigns to preserve the former home of Henry Hampton and the historic St. James African Orthodox Church, and to win city designation of Highland Park as an Architectural Conservation District.
