 Our History

HISTORY: The Highland Park Neighborhood Coalition The HPNC) Highland Park Neighborhood Coalition (HPNC) is the oldest of Highland Park’s neighborhood associations. Founded in 2011, HPNC is a merger of four associations that go back to the early ‘70’s.

The HPNC meets monthly to address neighbors’ concerns: crime and safety, and proposed development and plan community events. The HPNC also spearheaded special campaigns to preserve the former home of Henry Hampton at 88 Lambert Street and the historic St. James African Orthodox Church at 50 Cedar Street, and to win city designation of Highland Park as an Architectural Conservation District.
