Candidate positions
The Highland Park Project Review Committee (PRC) is looking for candidates to represent this community in designating these vacant city-owned properties. Elections will take place on June 23, 2026.
Highland Park is bounded by Malcolm X, Columbus, Washington, and Marcella Streets. For the purpose of prioritizing projects with the MOH, Highland Park is divided into the following four quadrants:
1. Hawthorne, generally bounded by Cedar, Washington, Highland, and Marcella Streets;
2. Fort Hill, generally bounded by Highland, Columbus, and Cedar Streets;
3. Linwood, generally bounded by Cedar, Columbus, Malcolm X and Highland Streets;
4. Thornton/Lambert, generally bounded by Highland, Malcolm X, Washington, and Cedar Streets.
The Project Review Committee consists of eight elected Members and three elected Chairs.
Members
The PRC Committee has eight elected Members who must be residents of Highland Park. Members serve a three-year term. Members are responsible for actively staying engaged with Highland Park residents, keeping informed of all developments on assigned public parcels across Highland Park and voting on their disposition at PRC meetings.
Chairs
In addition to the eight Members, the PRC Committee has three Chairs. Chairs also must be residents of Highland Park and serve a three-year term. Chairs are responsible for setting meeting agendas, ensuring that the PRC operates effectively and efficiently, maintaining active communication with Highland Park residents and community bodies, and representing the PRC in interactions with other groups such as municipal government or the public. One of the Chairs will serve as the PRC Secretary, also for a three-year term.
